HEMANT GAVANKAR
Architecture has always been a prominent symbol of power. Right from old forts and colonial architecture from the past to the modern glass structures all stand for power. I associate these modern structures with Mayasabhā, a structure mentioned in Māhābhārata. Modern structures as well as interiors have extensive use of glass and other glossy materials. These materials not only reflect and produce visual illusions of large spaces and reflect light in or out but also create few illusive points of view about life and lifestyle.
